GGRecon are an esports and gaming publisher bringing you industry-leading original stories, all the latest news, guides, exclusive interviews.
I worked with them to create a redesign of their responsive website, available in both light and dark mode, across mobile and desktop screens.
This was the first project in which I worked on where I have been able to understand the transition between light and dark mode, and understanding the transferrable colour palettes between the two.
I worked on GGRecon from the start of the project with Degree 53 agency, and carried on to work with them as a freelancer for Phase 02 of the site. From wireframes and understanding the best UX of the product, straight through to the end UI.

The client wanted to create a highly visual product, with exclusive content, enabling the user to access specific news articles that would relate directly to them.
Gathering research from streaming platforms, direct competitors, and news networks separate from the esports world, we were able to gather a extensive knowledge of how the user is able to digest a wide spread of information, and not become overwhelmed.
High level and clearly presented navigation was the key to the users journey flow. We understood the likelihood that each user may have specified gaming content they wish to see more often than others, and grouping content under quick links and efficient tags allowed them to see which of the content they wish to see, at a glance.

Working with GGRecon in the initial ideation process, we created low fidelity wireframes, understanding page composition and how they wish to prioritise the different types of content.
After an in-depth design development process, and a continuous feedback loop between design and client, we created clear and well informed product, that allowed the user to easily find new content posted on the site in minimal clicks.
